Polyamory (noun) – The practice of having, or being open to having, more than one romantic partner. Polyamory is a popular form of ethical non-monogamy, where all partners involved enter into the arrangement as an explicit choice.


Dennis is married to Dawn, but also is romantically involved with Chris. Dawn has full knowledge of the relationship between Dennis and Chris and Chris knows that Dennis and Dawn are married.

Polysaturated (adjective) Describes the condition of having the maximum number of partners that one wants or can handle. Wanting no more partners.


I enjoyed having two partners, and was open to one more. After starting a relationship with a third partner, I was feeling polysaturated.

Relationship Anarchy

Relationship Anarchy (RA) is an approach to relating inspired by the document “The short instructional manifesto for relationship anarchy” by Andie Nordgren.

The premise is that each relationship is unique and the people in that relationship get to define it. RA rejects traditional hierarchical models, in which certain types of relationship, such as lovers, are considered more important than other types, such as friendships.
